ASOM to Salute Our Veterans
This year’s opening ceremony for the annual Salute to Veterans will be held on November 5th at 1:30pm at the Airborne & Special Operations Museum. Special guest speaker is World War II Veteran and author Vincent Speranza. A Book signing will occur immediately after the ceremony and Nuts!: A 101st Airborne Division Machine Gunner at Bastogne is available in the gift shop.
30″ American Flags purchased will be on display from 5 November through Sunday 13 November.
According to Paul Galloway, Executive Director of the Airborne & Special Operations Museum Foundation, “This is a wonderful way to show your support and gratitude to those who have served and those who are serving now. This is for all veterans, a celebration of one’s service regardless of branch of service or how long they served. We hope to have more than 1,000 flags on display, showing the true patriotism of all citizens of Fayetteville, Cumberland County and beyond.”
The public can purchase flags for $5 in honor or in memoriam of a veteran by calling the museum at 643-2778 or visiting the website at www.asomf.org. Flags can also be purchased in the museum’s Gift Shop. Each flag will be placed on the museum grounds from November 5 through the 13th.
