Airborne & Special Operations Museum (ASOM)
Green Beret Chris Falkel’s heroism during Operation Enduring Freedom saved the lives of 16 Afghan National Army Soldiers, and everyone else in his detachment. For his actions that day, SSG Falkel was posthumously awarded the Silver Star. Jeff Falkel, Chris’ father, wrote a book about it. It’s a moving story about their bond, which takes the reader on an emotional journey through the harrowing battles of the war, as seen through the eyes of a father. Hear stories about our heroes you don’t read everyday – the men of Special Forces Operational Detachment – Alpha 316.
